One of the first surface lure on our market. Lure that opened up new possibilities for me.

It has been more than 20 years since the first Skitter Pops appeared in the Czech Republic. To this day, I can still remember the nearby fishermen tapping their foreheads as I tossed the Pop in the undercarriage and pulled it down stream at lightning speed. And I'll never forget the looks on their faces when I pulled asp with almost every cast. Yes, this time is irretrievably gone, but Pop always has a place in our boxes.

5, 7, or 9 centimeters. Natural and crazy colors. I can't remember a Pop that didn't work. We most often use the 5 centimeter version for perch. 7 is such a universal for perch, asp and pike. I take the 9 when I go for pike. But even here no rule applies 100%. I caught many perch on 9 and countless pike on 5.

On the river, I most often pull the Pop fast with the current and try to imitate a fast fleeing baitfish. On the lake, I choose a gentler snap, and that's just when I'm chasing the perch. Even half-minute breaks are not harmful. And pike? Here it is necessary to provoke with a huge geyser. Pop is a bait with which you can really win, and hunting for it will probably never stop entertaining me.

Today there are already dozens of other surface lures and most companies have them in their portfolio. But for me, Rapala's Skitter Pop remains number one, just because of the memories.
