Beast, a huge worker in a small body. A baitcasting reel with which you will cover the pike and catfish fishing and which will certainly not leave you in the lurch.

It's been over two years since I picked out a small compact reel that can hold enough thick braid, has a brake to stop the train, fits perfectly in the hand and I know can take rough handling.

Abu Revo Beast and Shimano Tranx are commonly available reels that can withstand a catfish fishing. But which one to choose? Both are definitely worth considering. Both are excellent and you can't go wrong with either one. For the Beast, a stronger brake is on paper, while for the Tranx, a more solid body. What for me is one of the decisive parameters for every reel is how well it fits together with the rod in the hand. And I say that to every customer. Take the rod you want to fish with and try different baitcasting reel on it.

Although 90% of my reels are Shimano, here I reached for Abu. I have a relatively small hand and the Beast fit me much better. But many friends use Tranx and are extremely satisfied with it. With the Abu Beast, I cast wobblers from 20g without any problems, but the left rear can pull a 100g bait with a lot of resistance in a strong current. I have yet to meet a fish that the Beast can't handle. I use one of the Beasts on the catfish line and the other on the vertical. And after more than two years, I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

If you want a light and sturdy machine with which you can chase the biggest predators of Czech waters, be sure to include the Beast in your selection.
